UPDATE: Unconfirmed TV reports say at least 50 survivors have been rescued from the buried school house in Brgy. Guinsaugon, St. Bernard, Southern Leyte (7:50 PM, 02/20/2006).
A moment of silence for those affected by the Leyte landslide. St. Bernard, the area hit by the tragedy is on the southern tip of Leyte, a hundred or so kilometers from my hometown. Prayers for those who died and help for those who survived would be much appreciated.
I’m off to this island paradise for a short 4-day hiatus from SEO, blogging, Bloglines and Yahoo! Messenger. This Boracay vacation is reward for a job well done. It also may well be the last 4 free days I’ll have until April. When I get back to civilization on Monday, it’s going to be all business.

Being the ever lazy bloke, I was convinced I wasn’t going to find the time to go out, buy then read the book. Work and the Internet, my mistresses, were two distractions that ate up almost all of my waking hours. But as fate would have it, it was the book that was going to find me, not the other way around. About a month ago, a friend of my brother leaves a copy of the Special Illustrated Edition of The Da Vinci Code at home. Two days later, I’m hooked. Read the rest of this entry »
British web designer Alfie Dennan put We are not afraid.com up to serve as a forum for Brits to share their views on the terrorist attacks in London. Yesterday the website registered four million hits, coupled with about 3,500 photo submissions all containing the “We are not afraid” message. Read the rest of this entry »
