Google’s going overboard with this. Here’s Ask.com’s spoof. Well done Ask, well done indeed :)
Q: Can I Ask on Google?
A: No, no, and no. You are welcome to ask on Google, however.
Q: Can I ask on Ask?
A: You can ask on Ask.com, but remember that you can also search on Ask.com.
Q: Do people Google on Ask?
A: Looking at our logs, people do seem to google on Ask.com. They type in “google” and go to Google. They also do this with Yahoo, eBay, Amazon etc. So you may find that you Yahoo on Google, eBay on Yahoo, and even Amazon on Amazon (if you were looking for books about the rainforest on that wonderful shopping site). Just this morning I Microsoft’d on the Ask.com Blog Search. Felt good.
Was checking out the PLDT myDSL audio fiasco over at YouTube and happened to see Putanginamo.com’sDumb Pinoy Call Center video. Good enough to go viral? You be the judge.

Right on the heels of the very successful Isulong SEOPH keyword ranking contest, I’m pleased to announce the launch of the second Philippine keyword ranking contest. This is a pet project of SEO Philippines, a local organization dedicated to the growth of the search marketing industry in the Philippines.
While this is first and foremost a keyword ranking contest, we’ve added a special twist. It’s called the Triple Jackpot Prize. With PHP 300,000 in cash to be given away to the best of the best, this is without any doubt the biggest search engine optimization contest this side of the globe. Read the rest of this entry »
After helping Google reach new heights, is Googlebot on vacation? According to Michael, Digg, Netscape and even CNN all show ’stale’ copies in the Google index.
I’m sure there are pages in the indexed that are more up to date, but if a big heavily trafficked site dripping with PageRank and oozing with trustworthiness and authority is 4 days old does seem like somethings not quite right doesn’t it?
Locally, I’m seeing the same thing for some high traffic, trustworthy sites in the Philippines:
Here are 21 easy tips for newbie bloggers who have Ad$ense visions. Perhaps the best tip is this:
20. Go ‘Real-World’ with other bloggers. If you live in a major city (or visit one occasionally), invite other bloggers to join you for a drink or dinner. While friendships can be developed in cyberspace, the most fruitful business relationships, even in the world of blogging, tend to flourish only after face-to-face interaction. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, just send a few individualized emails to some specific bloggers in your city asking them to meet up. You can frame it as an opportunity to learn from their wisdom (bloggers love to consider themselves experts), or simply a meeting of the minds. Either way, having a relationship bolstered by face-to-face contact can provide countless benefits over one maintained entirely online.
Not because you’re after their links. Well ok, maybe :) But that’s not your main reason for going out with them. Read the rest of this entry »
I went to probably the newest Starbucks branch in the metro with Berch boy Glen yesterday. It’s the one on the ground floor of Lee Gardens along Shaw. I was showing off the Visibility, he was showing off his tablet PC (what good is that without net access? I still win biatch!). The discussion went to search and he was asking for tips on how to be found in Google for the keywords that are relevant to him, i.e. his trophy keywords. Read the rest of this entry »
