I’ve a number of friends who actually prefer the security of a corporate life over the day-to-day challenges of being an entrepreneur. Others do not like Corporate Politics and prefer the challenges of owning their own busineses, or freelancing. To each his own, I guess.

I just wanted to experience what’s it like to be on the other side of the fence, so I don’t kick myself when I’m 40. Now was the best time to switch.

Interesting column! Thanks for the link Marc. A write-up like that certainly reinforces my goal to forgo the corporate lifestyle and start my own business before hitting my 40’s.

The thing I like about working for myself is the uncertainty. Working in a corporate environment the reward is always the same however well I perform. Working for myself I can achieve whatever I want to achieve.
