If you’re a blogger, you’ve tasted comment spam. Why do people do it? For link popularity purposes of course or in Google speak, PageRank. Google, Yahoo and MSN and a host of blog hosting services have banded together to launch the “nofollow” link attribute. With the “nofollow” attribute activated for the “public” areas of a blog, search engine bots won’t follow the link, and thus won’t assign link popularity ranking benefits to the link destination. Smart, efficient. A very welcome development. Read the rest of this entry »

Posted (Marc) in SEO on January-15-2005

If you’re looking for Pinaycelebs, the site that contains “images of the sexiest Pinay celebrities“, don’t fret. You’re almost there. You can scroll on down to the bottom of the page for the link to the pinaycelebs website now, or you can invest 30 seconds of your time to read this short, but insightful article about one of the most bookmarked Filipino websites. New Year, Same Old Shit
Posted (Marc) in Personal on January-15-2005

A fresh new year brings in new hope, pregnant expectations and, yes…the same old shit. Some things never change.

I left college with the grand 5-C plan: car, condo, computer, cash, chick. Yes I was the materialistic muther back then. I still am…some things never change.

I gave up on too many relationships and learned to not give a fuck. I still don’t give one thank you very much…some things never change.

I don’t take pleasure in spending for things that I won’t be able to use for myself. Sharing is reserved for the charismatic nuts. I didn’t have coins for you then, guess what, I still don’t have coins for you now…some things never change. Read the rest of this entry »

LF: Full Time Bloggers
Posted (Marc) in Corporate Shit on January-12-2005

I’m getting desperate. If you know a blogger (I need 2 actually) who is into web development and currently looking for a job, please ask them to forward their resumes to webmaster@epacificglobal.com.

Here’s the 10-second pitch: above-average industry compensation, challenging job, stable company. A blogger would fit in nicely with the job description (see below) since the raw skills needed would be copywriting and HTML. Read the rest of this entry »

Two Thousand Five
Posted (Marc) in Personal on January-11-2005

If I had to cite a New Year’s resolution, it would have to be that I promise to be more tolerant of other people’s idiosyncrasies (read I will shoot less and act dumb more). This would also be the year that I plot my financial independence from employee-dom and start thinking about life outside the corporate jungle. Hey, every serf wants to see how it feels to be on the giving end of a manager dressing down session ;) Hell while we’re at it, throw in a graduate degree, a kick-ass home theater system, a fresh new wardrobe and a memorable summer vacation to the mix. Christmas Photo Gallery
Posted (Marc) in Photography on January-11-2005

Before I forget (and lest my relatives hang me for not sharing the photos to the world), here are the links to my December vacation in Isabel, Leyte:
12/23, 12/24, 12/25, 12/26, 12/27, 12/28, 12/29 and 12/30.

I must say Sharm impressed me and the entire family. That was one of the more memorable New Year dinners we had. You made Christmas complete :)
