Desert MARPAT at MMTC

It always feels good to be back in the battlefield again, especially after a few weeks of being MIA. We went to the the default game site for that day. Everyone else who was lucky enough to go went to Angeles, Pampanga for the Megaball 2004 airsoft event. The grunts who couldn’t spent their BBs at MMTC.

I had second thoughts about wearing the tropentarn set together with the new desert tan knee and elbow pads (medium pants I can handle, but size L?!), so I decided to use the desert MARPAT set instead. Somehow, using a black LBV doesn’t fit the profile, at least for the airsoft fashionistas out there. Well, I’ve been looking for a coyote brown interceptor replica vest for the longest..I’ve got a few leads here and there courtesy of eBay and Jake of Team OZ who was kind enough to email me a few photos of their interceptor replicas. Interested in the real thing? The vest should complete the USMC desert MARPAT loadout I’ve collected. Mic, on the other hand, is still stuck in the Blackhawk Down phase. BTW, the Sansei mask/Protec/goggles combination just doesn’t work.

MILK and his MARPAT Mic and his Black Hawk Down fantasy

The first game was rather uneventful as I volunteered for sniper duties on top of the guard tower. The sandbags helped set the ambiance but the peepholes were too small to be effective. Is it just me or does everyone get a trip out of trying to shoot BBs into these holes?! Hell, I was pinned down the entire game! We played a couple of attack/defense and steal the flag scenarios. No real highlights, except for the solider in the gray getup - was it Middle Eastern or Pakistani? And no, he wasn’t shouting some Arabic battlecry during those tense moments. On one of the assaults, AcMad, Boy, Caimera and I went “bouncing” forward. Cover fire, advance. Cover fire, advance. I think I must have been daydreaming because when I woke up I was crawling on wet cement. Yes I ruined my BDU for the day, but the tactical movement and battle experience learned always make up for it. It’s always a pleasure to see a well-planned and well-executed assault on a defensive position. Hope to familiarize myself even more with the playing styles of the other TMS members.

Thanks to Tintoot of TMS for the photos.

I was really surprised when i found out there’s a webpage called macalua. You must be a lost cousin of mine because you look like my Tito Junart. I’m proud of your webpage because it looks good and you write well. Hope we can link up sometime.

Hi Geena, we’re probably related. Are you from Negros? Tito Junart’s my uncle (him and dad are brothers). I always thought I looked like my mom, but now that you mentioned it, it seems the Macalua genes show after all. And no, I haven’t developed the fatty nape characteristic of so many Macaluas :) Thanks for visiting!
